Oregano is one of the most potent essential oils and has been used in traditional practices for centuries. Extracted from the fragrant leaves of the oregano plant, Origanum vulgare, Oregano essential oil has found its way into cookbooks and cupboards around the world. Its main chemical constituent is carvacrol, a phenol, which makes it one of the most versatile and potent essential oils. When applied topically, Oregano should be diluted with a carrier oil.

Dosage

Diffusion: Use three to four drops in your chosen diffuser. Food flavouring use: Dilute one drop in 125 ml of liquid. Topical use: For massage, mix 5 drops with 10 ml of carrier oil. For a bath, mix 5 drops with 5 ml of carrier oil. For perfuming, mix 1 drop with 10 drops of carrier oil.
